Special Investigation: Fast Food Nation
As I sit here eating my artery clogging lunch from Mickey D’s, I wonder…
Is this any less healthy than a hamburger and French fries I might make at home?
Ladies and gentleman it’s time for Special Investigation: Fast Food Nation!
So what exactly makes a Mickey D’s meal so unhealthy?
Here are the nutritional facts for my meal today, a #4 Big and Tasty as compared to a meal you might make at home

I can see how this might be bad if you ate Mickey D’s for breakfast AND dinner, or even eating them every day if you actually ate three times a day as this one meal accounted for almost 70% of daily fat intake. It would be quite difficult to eat two other meals to balance this one. And the sodium?! Even though 940 mg (720 for burger 220 for fries) seems like a lot, that’s only 39% of the daily intake.
I wonder though if the fries include the oil they fry it in..and if they’re salted or unsalted.
. . .
And that’s another thing, who came up with the idea of serving burgers with fries anyway?
