Memories from the corner of my mind

Yeah boyeee….some syndicated thoughts for ya

So…Kanye has once again proven that he is a drama queen with his new song, “Throw some D’s on that [female dog]”

“But KaNisa,” you might ask, “wasn’t that by Rich Boy.”

Well yes but Mr. West thought it would be funny to satirize the song so that it means to give implants to a [female dog].

Some lyrics for you:

“[female dog] let me pop that chest, i ‘ont give a [truck] [female dog], im ’bout to pop yo breast,”

Gee. That’s talent right there…

In other news…

Nothing much to report today. Despite me getting lots of sleep this morning, I’m still about to fall out from tiredness. Also, for some reason unknown to me, I’m sore in my shoulder areas…

Perhaps I sleepwalk and lift weights at night…

Or it could be my poor posture from playing video games in between sleeping this weekend.

Anyway…

I found a CD the other day of songs I haven’t heard in years. They were theme songs from anime shows I used to watch.

Man did those take me back…

Anime is an expensive hobby. Those tapes cost at least 19.99 each! Good thing my parents were paying…

I remember the first anime I watched was Speed Racer. I wasn’t a big fan though…it was something I watched whenever it was on…the first one I actually got into was Sailor Moon. I used to watch it at my grandmother’s house until I found out it came on USA at like 3 or something. Later it moved to Cartoon Network as part of their Toonami Block.

(I promise I won’t “Geek Out” it’s just I haven’t thought about these shows in forever…)

SO Sailor Moon was about this ditzy blond named Serena (English name) she’s in middle school and finds out that she’s a superhero who fights against evil monsters who are always trying to steal people’s energy. (My favorite was Sailor Pluto because she looked black…lol).

I don’t really know why I liked this show so much. The American version (originally produced by Disney) doesn’t compare AT ALL to the original because it edited out a lot of the suggestive content. The Japanese version had suggestive themes (lesbians) and profanity…in America, the lesbians were just close friends….regardless, Sailor Moon was the true gateway into anime for me.

I also started watching a show called Ranma ½ which was about a boy who changed into a girl when splashed with cold water. You can imagine that would land the character into some interesting situations…especially since he had an arranged marriage to a tomboy.

That one was much more risqué than Sailor Moon. There was nudity, profanity, and perverts a plenty. (A grandfather character took every opportunity to grope breastses and also had a substantial female underwear collection.)…but it differed from my gateway show in that it was mostly about relationships instead of fighting evil by moonlight. (Sorry had to go there…that’s a reference from the Monie theme song that’s actually playing through my speakers at this moment.)

Anyway the point is that it’s interesting how much we shield children in America. These same shows would be viewed by 12 and 13 year olds in Japan with no issues that the themes are too adult, AND they’re supposedly much more modest than we are? We’re worrying about some show on TV that should be restricted instead of our weed smoking two year olds?!

Take care of your own bidness people….geez…

Anime/Manga Favorites (to the best of my memory)
Sailor Moon
Ranma ½
Serial Experiments: Lain
Kare Kano
Fushigi Yuugi
Oh My Goddess Volume 1
X (movie)
Magic Knights Rayearth
Video Girl Ai
There’s one movie…about a chick that’s an assassin…I remember I was really into it when I was like 14…and I was shocked because it had relations and graphic violence in it….I can’t remember what it was called, but it was good.
NOT DRAGONBALL Z!!!

I soooo have a love/hate relationship with Kanye West. His beats are good but his EGO is stank *rolling eyes and one pops out*

    LOL You know?

I wish he would do a few non-sampled songs though…that’s getting old.

We like some the same ones, i liked fushigi Yuugi , if you like cute love ones try marmalade boy. (better in japanese though) Also for the brutality kind of fighting and what not try Berserk. I loved that one, but the manga explains more than the actual videos.

Dee you know you don’t have to explain yourself! Statcounter says you people visit periodically…I know your secrets! :)

I’ve heard of Marmalade Boy…I think I’ve some of the manga around. There are only 8 books of that though!
