Further solidifying harem status.

Sidenote : Interestingly, at least 3 people who are in the harem or harem adjacent grew up Jehovah Witness…what they be teaching ya’ll?!

So there’s artists…and there’s Artists.

“artists” I feel  deliberately try to make art.

Artists just do stuff and it becomes art.

It’s actually interesting that the people in my so called harem are all artists at their core. They’re not technologists or business  people…they’re not me. I admire and have respect for people who have an natural aptitude to do things that are outside of my wheelhouse. They’re interesting to explore…I want to look at their brains and ask them how they do things, what do they feel? What do they experience? How do they experience things? What thoughts do they have? How do they translate that into their work?

It seems most of them are very moody, exacting, and particular. I get that, I’m the same way, but I don’t translate my emotions into my work like they do, I more use my work to distract from those emotions.

Mr. Nelson was thought to be “nuts” then like Kany.e is thought to be “nuts” now…except his was slightly more on purpose than Mr. West. He was also supposedly SUPER shy…and hid behind the larger than life persona. Push and pull. Intense and cold. Inclusive and reclusive. Bandleader/boss and hermit.

I don’t think he gets enough credit as a bandleader. There’s a reason why some of his albums have Pri.nce AND the N.PG or Pri.nce AND Third.EyeGirl or Pri.nce AND the Re.volution. He would stub out the main melody and EVERYONE  would contribute to those songs. He could hear things and really optimize the best of everyone’s work.

And they would practice the same song for HOURS! Every day! For weeks! Months! DISCIPLINE!

They were all true musicians! Some with theoretical musical backgrounds! Coming up with truly complex and advanced melodies! And he was equal opportunity…a lot of his closest collaborators were women who knew their isht!

True artists!

In other salutes…

I’ve  mentioned it before, but I really like Mr. Nelson’s approach to secuality. It’s very spiritual, very human :

Totally puts into words how I’ve felt about it! Not about being square or chaste or whatever or religious, for me, there’s just more to that kind of exchange than just “I want it willingly. You’ll do.”

And then there’s when you’re favs don’t get along…

My Michae.l my Prin.ce.

Apples and Oranges.

They had a good rivalry though. Both petty. Both prima-donnas.

But they’re artists…when you live in your art like that, when you truly let go and just become a vessel of the universe in that way, you’re going to get A LOT coming through you.

Amazing magnificent artifacts of expression…

Amazing demonstrations of pettiness and childishness.

You get the good with the bad…but it’s excused.

So yeah.

Learned a lot this weekend. Pri.nce truly is on another level of living.

Much respect!
