On My Own

Greetings!

I come to you from the Loft of the ballinginst apartment you will ever see (in my price range). The rope to my parents has been cut! I am now financially and physically independent!

It’s all very exciting.

First though, I would like to plug a business by the name of Cort Furniture. At this establishment, I was able to purchase a set which included:

A living room set including:
A sleeper sofa
A love seat
Two end tables
A coffee table
2 lamps

A dining room set including:
A table
4 micro suede padded chairs

AND a bedroom including:
A headboard
A mattress
A box spring mattress
A dresser with a mirror
A nightstand
AND a lamp

ALL for the low LOW price of 1299!

That’s right people! 3 ROOMS FOR 1299!

. . .

(Of course I had to get slip covers for the couches as they were quite retro, but everything else was ready to roll…)

Check em out!

In other news…

I got a pretty good deal on the new digs as well. At first I was concerned about the price, but it turned out to not be so bad. I’m paying 400 bucks more than what I would have paid in Atlanta, but those couple of hundred dollars makes a big difference due to the competition for residents up here. (For example, every apartment I looked at had huge garden tubs, alarm systems, and new appliances. Seems like that’s standard.)

The apartment I chose is one bedroom/one bathroom with an additional loft and additional den. Its selling point is the great room style living room as it has soaring ceilings and a huge window that’s at least 20 feet tall. It also has a pretty descent view of the Mountains, and a cozy fireplace.

Very lovely.

The location is great as well 10 miles in one direction are wine trails and mountain hiking opportunities, and 10 miles in the other direction is at least 3 very large shopping complexes. Pretty much any restaurant you can think of is within a radius of 10 miles too…

I suppose it’s a pretty good place to be.

Now all I have to do is convince people to visit me…

It looks very warm and inviting. I remember my first apt after college, and trust it was nothing like this one. I’m happy for you. I’m looking forward to the posts to come regarding the work world.
