Cosplaying While Black?
Not sure what that means exactly.
It’s a site that features black people who cosplay. At nerd conventions, and just generally in the cosplay world, we’re few and far between (I literally only saw maybe a dozen or so Black people at DragonCon last year…and there were THOUSANDS there! And it was in the middle of Atlanta!). This is an encouraging site that lets us know there ARE people who do it.
And it’s super cool and encouraging to see people cosplay characters who are obviously not Black (few of us in the genes that typically get cosplayed as well). My favorite that I’ve seen recently is this deception of Princess Serenity from Sailor Moon, one of my favorite anime shows.
Actually . . . what I was referring to (or rather what I found curious) was the conjunction “while” in Cosplaying While Black.
Well when such a beautiful woman is wearing such a wonderful costume, it’d bound to attract a lot of attention. In fact, I came across your photos on Tumblr first, and I sought out the woman modeled in them just so I could tell her personally how lovely she looks. <3
