Ha!

Words are POWERFUL!

Yesterday I said I didn’t have much to report.

Today I have TONS to report!

In rapid succession, these things happened today :

Got Kudos for a big project from regional firm leadership.
Got Kudos for a big project from a client…asking if I can stay on her project because she loves working with me. (sorry her words :\ )
Got a call that I might need to take someone’s place on a trip and to stand by for the details.
Got a request for UX time for project #1
Got a follow up call that the trip was an ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP TO VEGAS FOR A BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE CONFERENCE WITH SR FIRM LEADERSHIP AND I NEEDED TO MAKE A DECISION WITHIN 10 MINUTES.
Panicked because Gambino and my sister’s bridal shower is also next week. Asked if I could just go for the first part…they said yes.
Apparently going to Vegas Sunday – Thursday morning, then rushing back to the house to shower and change for Bino, then waiting in line for a good position for the concert Thursday night.
Frantically re-arranging my schedule and delegating tasks to my team for next week.
Got a call that one of my worker’s wives was going THROUGH IT with her birth…(person I’ve been taking up for this week and thus making my 8 hour days 14 hour ones on average so far this week).
Got requests for UX for project 2-4. Delegate, delegate, delegate!
Got an email that my mentor of 7 years and the person who taught me everything I know UX wise is resigning. Was like wat?!?! Why did you just email?!?! AND WHY WAS IT SO FORMAL?
Got notice that someone might be working on a hook up for Gambino next week…
GOT NOTICE THAT I’VE BEEN INVITED TO A PERSONAL MEET AND GREET BEFORE THE CONCERT ON THURSDAY BECAUSE HE’S HEARD OF ME!

….

Okay just kidding about that last one, but just speaking it into existence just in case…

But yeah, you get the picture.

I always tell my people, your reputation is EVERYTHING when it comes to your career. What goes around comes around in spades, whether you did good work or bad.
