It’s Friday night. 11ish o clock.
We are under a Winter Storm Warning. Atlanta is freaking out over what will probably amount to .3 inches of snow. Work shut down around 11AM and the Mayor said to be off the roads by 4PM.
No snow or ice yet.
In other news….
Listening to an bootleg from set during my fav time period (Listening to this and as always he does not disappoint). Kinda wanted to stay up to watch it start snowing (scoped for 1AM ish). Was playing Sims earlier and now writing to update you fine people.

Kinnnda lost count on how many small portions I’ve had…but the ratio is 3 shot glasses of water to one shot glass of vodka so…clearly sober enough to be able to write this…
In other news…
Big project that burned me out last year is coming around again for part 2.
I have remixed the team a bit to take some load off, so hopefully that’ll be better. The Business Analyst I chose is SUPER detailed oriented. Word on the street is that it’s to a fault, but that’s fine. If I can be a good lead and optimize him, that will be AWESOME for everyone. I’ve worked with him before, just need to check the ego some and help him be more empathetic/read others/learn how to speak to others in a more persuasive vs aggressive way and he will be AWESOME. That will be the actual challenge for this project…balancing egos.
Also tasked to lead a technical brain trust for a contract, again the only chick on this team, and the youngest by several years. Curious that they encouraged me to do this role. Took me to lunch to convince me because I didn’t readily accept it (not because I didn’t feel capable, more because I didn’t have faith that our ideas would actually be implemented). Huge champion of developers running things because they are the ones who have to implement things and they usually get pushed to the side for process over actual work.
Also am 0% interested in the hobnobbing required to move up in the firm. Like I want to do stuff not just sell stuff…and in the consultant world, the selling part is a huge part of it. I’m not good at ego stroking at all. I will always tell the truth in a real way without much sugar coating. It’s honest. If you in danger, you need to know.
But we’ll see…will be another growth year for sure.
Nothing else much going on. Work and obsessing over Prince in spare time so…yeah that’ll probably be the cadence for a while.
