I suppose it was still a bit early, but they were rather inconsistent last fall. Definitely in better shape now though.

The US are the defending world team and individual all-around champions, and they did that with a novice Gabrielle Douglas, who now looks to be among the very best and peaking at just the right time. They will be in the hunt for the gold come London, as will the Chinese, by hook or by crook . . .
Of course, what makes Olympic gymnastics so exciting is that it can all go pear-shaped, because the scoring system forces the gymnasts to go for broke and under such extreme pressure. Looking forward to it all!
