Late Mid Week Update
Yeah nothing much to report.
Work is work. Lots of it.
I was kinda proud of myself today though. My a/c went out on me earlier this week. Was confused about why…the maintenance people just came to look at it last week so there really shouldn’t be any issues.
Got around to calling about it today. I almost feel like my steps were ordered…I went online to submit a claim to my home warranty people and the online form wasn’t working for some reason. When I called this afternoon, the guy put me in the system, but kept saying “we don’t cover clogged condensation drains”. I was like “why does he keep saying that”?!
After the phone call, I googled/youtubed “clogged condensation drains” and came across this.
Basically, all you do is put a wet/dry vac on the external pipe for a few seconds to unclog the pipe, empty your pan of water, and you’re good to go! They also recommended putting a cup of bleach in the access part by the heater every spring to keep things clean.
I don’t have a wet dry vac, but I do have a vaccum…

I went for it.
Probably should have taken the filter out of my vaccum, but whatev. Put it on the pipe on the outside that lined up to where my heat pump was…turned it on for 3 seconds…
Bloop!
Then water drained out!
Woot!
Went back inside and looked in the pan. Looks like the water that came out was stopped up somewhere else so I had to manually empty it.
Started scooping water out with some throwaway cups. After about 15 scoops, the unit kicked back on!
